Órbita
Music begins
in your hands.
Inspired by the theremin, Órbita lets you direct light and sound like an orchestra conductor. Its AI recognizes your hands through the camera and processes the experience on your device.
Getting started
- Open Órbita and allow camera access when your device asks.
- Stand in a well-lit place and keep both hands inside the frame.
- Move your right hand up and down to travel through the notes.
- Use your left hand to control volume and shape the timbre through its opening and movement.
Two bodies of particles follow your gestures. Clap to create an explosion of light, or close your fist over one to disperse it. On-screen cues help you discover the experience.
Try it without a camera
Use the web preview’s simulated hands: drag the orbits to move them and turn on sound to listen. No camera permission is needed.
The camera is not working
Make sure Órbita has camera permission in your browser or macOS privacy settings. Close other applications using the camera, then try again. If you use an external camera, check its connection.
Gestures are not recognized reliably
Improve the lighting, avoid strong backlight and keep your fingers visible. Lower your hands and bring them back into the frame. If the problem continues, reload or reopen the application.
I cannot hear sound
Check your device volume and audio output. Raise your left hand when using the camera. In the preview, make sure sound is enabled.
Do I need an account?
No account is required. Hand recognition, graphics and sound run on your device. Read the privacy policy for details.
